I have been asked what do we at Salt Lake Baptist Church believe in, what doctrine do we follow.
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who went to the cross of Calvary and shed His perfect sinless blood that we who believe in Him could be presented to His Father without spot or blemish, having all our sins washed away by the blood of the Lamb. We also believe that Jesus rose from the dead and conquered death, that we who by faith are in Jesus, our Lord and Savior, will receive eternal life.
We also believe that Jesus is the only door to eternal life and once one has by faith received the gift of God's love, it can never be lost.
We at SLBC hold fast to the Bible, which is the Word of God, given to mankind that we might not only find eternal salvation through Jesus Christ, but also that we might have the gifts that God, through the Holy Spirit, will give to those who follow the path that is set before them until the time God calls them home to be with Him for eternity.
In Matthew 22:37–40 Jesus, in answering the Pharisees' question on what are the greatest commandments, spoke these words:
"Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself."
Then Jesus said, "On these commandments hang all the law and prophets."
We at SLBC believe these two commandments are the cornerstone on which living for Jesus must be based.
The Bible tells us God does not play favorites. He is no respecter of persons, as He loves all He created in His image.
Our doors are open to everyone. Come as you are and worship with us our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We at SLBC are a part of the family of God and you are invited to come and worship with us as we worship Jesus our Lord and Savior.
